Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/LES12/JH17-3-36 Rear I give below an analysis of the shock absorber knocks as recorded for quarterly complaint purposes from the 1st October to date:- Broken Links. 3 - CW series. 1 - AE " -------- 4 - TOTAL. Internal Knocks. 2 - BL series. 2 - DK " 4 - EJ " -------- 8 - TOTAL. One-shot system failure to link. 1 - BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} series. (Dry Ball.) 2 - DG " 1 - EF " -------- 4 - TOTAL. Slack on Frame. 1 - CW series. 1 - BL series. -------- 2 - TOTAL. Regarding the first item, this is presumably caused by the failure of the two bolts piece No.E. 21549 (2.B.A.) These bolts clamp the top ball end joint to the connecting tube. We are not in possession of any evidence as to these failures, as we find the whole assembly "missing" with the exception of the bare link, which is usually dangling on the bottom ball joint. Regarding "Internal Knock" these shock dampers were actually changed and returned for rectification. Regarding the one-shot system failure to link, it is hardly fair to call this noise a knock. It is really a "creak" due to dry ball. Regarding "Slack on Frame", these two cases in particular were slack at the point where the four -contd- | ||
