For the attention of Mr.Treadgold.

Dear Sir,

Further to your conversation with Mr.Hives the other day, we are now sending you four drawings of small gearbox levers, of which the present material cost is 1/6d. We understand from Mr.Hives that you agree with us this figure is excessive.

The four drawings we are sending you are representative of about 30 similar pieces of which we should like to reduce the cost. We should be glad if you would give us an idea of the minimum price you could quote for these four levers, to be made in 5% nickel case-hardened steel.

If there are any points you wish to discuss about this matter, the writer would come over and see you.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
