To Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} X.604. C. to DY.{F R Danby} C. to EFC. C. to D/L. Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}3/W23.3.23. Re Exide Batteries. Referring to Mr. McKinnon's recent visit to the Works when the question of repairs to Exide Batteries was discussed, it was arranged that instead of the Repair Dept. accumulating a quantity of Batteries to await the inspection of Mr. McKinnon, that batteries should be tested by us as at present, and any battery which contains faulty cells will be sent immediately to the Chloride Company. We shall replace the faulty battery with a replacement battery. The Chloride Co. will report to us the cost, if any, of the repairs necessary to put it into as good condition as a replacement battery. This cost, if any, will be charged to the customer in the same manner which we do with Dynamo repairs. The R.D. will keep a stock of six replacement batteries for the purpose of supplying urgent requirements, and the repaired, or in case of complete failure, a new replacement battery will be supplied to replace the one supplied. This Department will apply to you in the usual form for despatch labels, and on receipt of same the Battery or Batteries will be passed into Stores for despatch to the Chloride Company's Works, for the necessary repairs to be carried out, and to be returned to us when completed. We shall be much obliged if you will confirm this arrangement with Messrs. The Chloride Electrical Storage Coy. Ltd. [Signature] Hm.{Capt. W.
