" EFC. x.3400 RE DIE-CAST PISTONS.

In connection with the simple die-cast piston recently brought to West WitteringHenry Royce's home town, Mr. Royce has pointed out that these pistons have been made with the skirt thickened opposite the bosses whereas there are reasons why the skirt should be strengthened directly opposite to the split. This latter has actually been carried out by means of a rib on one of our later experimental pistons, and Mr. Royce would like you to consider if a similar feature should be added to the die-cast pistons.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
