For the attention of Mr. G.A.Vandervell.

Dear Sirs,

We would be interested to know if you have any experience of Sintered Bronze as an inter-leaf material for road springs?

We would like to try out this application and would be glad if you would send us sufficient material to make 12 pieces 6" x 2".

We suggest similar material to that you supplied about August last for clutch application, which was .100 thick, although if you have a standard type slightly thinner, it would be acceptable.

With regard to clutch application, you may be interested to know that the Clevite graphite bronze is turning out to be very satisfactory on a considerable number of the old type of 20/25 H.P. Rolls Royce and 3½ litre Bentley cars.

We do not find it necessary to fit stronger thrust springs when fitting it as a replacement for the Woven Asbestos type facings, originally used, in fact, we fit the original thrust springs unaltered.

The amount of wear appears to be quite negligible, and on our old 20/25 HP. Rolls Royce Car, we had under personal observation for 9500 miles, there was not .001" wear either on the Clevite facings or on the steel driven plate.

CONT'D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
