Dear Sirs,

-: For the attention of Mr. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hives :-
(Experimental Department).
New Process Motor Oils.

The adoption of this Oil has been brought before your Buying Department and also your Laboratory, and in the case of the latter they have had all the particulars of the method of tests in arriving at the outstanding features which we hold in connection with them.

We understand, however, that the matter of the choice of the Motor Oils rests with your Department. The outstanding features of these New Process Oils are the Cold Test, and also the very considerable advantage in the amount of carbon deposit formed. The former very materially helps the starting up of the Engine, and does not therefore put so much strain on the batteries, and the latter enables one to run the Engine for a much greater mileage before any form of decarbonisation is necessary.

We are therefore giving the comparative figures of the standard grade of ours which most nearly meets the Motorine "G" (i.e. our N.P.3) giving the viscosity at 140°F, and also the Setting Point of the two Oils. The comparative carbon formed both on the Test Engine, and also the carbonisation value by Laboratory method are also included. You will notice from this that the Cold Test is as 8 to 23°F and the carbon deposit as 2.17 against 2.52 in the Engine Test, and by Laboratory methods 1.84 against 2.78.

All offers and contracts subject to the usual exemptions from delivery in the event of strikes, lock-outs, wars, or accidents (present or future) or any other cause over which we have no control, and also to advance in railway rates and to acceptance by return of Post unless otherwise stated.
Interest at 1% over bank rate will be charged on overdue accounts.
All prices subject to advance without notice.
