x.3441 EPR EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c.to Sft.{Mr Swift} for Sc. c. to Ms. c. to Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} BY4/P16.4.20. X.3441 RE LEAN OF FRONT STEERING PIVOTS. X 963 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}14/F15.4.20. I do not quite understand exactly what is meant when you say that the Works are not working to any standard. The Works have had instructions from me all along and we have been careful to see that the parts are produced to those instructions, to the effect that the lean of the Axle Pivot in the length of the Pivot Pin must lie between .125 and .187. We understand now, however, that you prefer to have a lean of .256" in the length of the pin; if the Experimental Dept. agree to this, we will modify our drawing accordingly, but we cannot agree that no care has been taken in this particular direction, as I have spent a considerable amount of time myself on the matter already.
