1031 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}6/ET. 19th November, 1940. The S.U. Carburetter Co. Ltd., Adderley Park, BIRMINGHAM 8. Attention of Mr. Skinner. Dear Sir, Further to our recent visit to your factory, the question of sticking air valves on the H.4. model carburetter is rather serious. It seems to date from the time when we changed from aluminium on the HVS. to the zinc base alloy on the H.4. Our suggestion is that the air valve chamber should have stronger lugs securing it to the carburetter body, and that their number should be increased to four, as on your larger carburetters. We would like to know whether you agree with this and, if so, whether you would consider modifying the dies accordingly. Yours faithfully, | ||
