Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for yours of the 6th inst., and we are dealing with it now as Mr Hardy is away abroad, but when he returns we shall put the matter before him to see if there is anything to add to our reply.

The Disc marked "A" was built up as you suggest, with less fabric and a special proofing rubber. When you wish to refer to this, we shall understand it as 22 Ply, White Proofing D, but otherwise quoting your own part number. We have put in hand twelve of these Discs without waiting for your order.

Your last paragraph asks what we should use, if left a free hand, to suit your conditions. We should say that the difference in performance between the discs you have observed is due to the different handling of the vehicles, or the heavier work one may be doing to another.

To increase the life and safety factor, we should use a Disc 190 outside diameter, 63 centre hole, 3/4" thick, Pitch Circle 140 with 6 - 1/2" holes.

Yours faithfully,

For & on behalf of HARDY SPICER & Co. LIMITED.

C. Wainell
ENGINEER.
