The following comparisons for the month of December 1937 and 1938 have been compiled from the Owner's complaint reports. It is appreciated that the figures do not show the total cost of free of charge work, but they do serve to show an appreciable reduction in the number of complaints and the cost to the Company. Incidentally, according to the latest return for free of charge expenditure for the last four weeks, there is a reduction of 50% amounting to £3,281 as compared with a similar period for 1937. It will be seen on the Bentley there are more complaints in 1938 but the cost of dealing with them is slightly less. The high figure per car is due to cost of bearing modification. Phantom.III.
