FOR ATTENTION OF MR. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} ROYCE LTD. Dear Sir, As we have now received a report from our Works on the U.3. Rectifying Valve returned here for report on your advice note WG{Mr Gill - Financial Director}/F,17959 of the 7th. inst., we have pleasure in replying to your letters of the 7th. and 13th. inst. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce}5/MG1. To make the matter clear we are replying in the order requested. (a) We regret it is not possible for us to express an opinion as to whether the Valve sent you to our advice note BA.186724 of the 11st. inst. will stand up better to the high tension applied between plate and filament, than the one under consideration, as obviously we can only speak of the Valve from point of view of the purpose for which it was designed. (b) We think that a larger form of rectifier than the U.3. would suit better the tests you have in mind, for example our B.H.T.No.2. particulars of which you have in your possession. (c) This is answered by (b). Perhaps a few particulars of our examination of the U.3. Valve you returned would interest you.
