To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EH. EH2/LG30.10.17. 30th Oct 1917. X.3205. CALCOTT CAR. I had a run on the above car yesterday, it ran very nicely. The engine gears are noisy but the whole car is fairly quite. I spent a lot of time waiting for the spares, the salesman Mr. Elliott and I saw, was out when I first got there, and the one in the shop said there were very few tools. I waited for the salesman to come back but did not have much luck with the tools. There is a very indifferent jack, tyres, levers and adjustable spanner and screw driver in the car. The tail lamp has the glass missing out of the back,(it is electric) they offered to repair it if I left it but I thought it best to take it away. If you could send it to Derby we could fix in a glass. Mr Cowen promised to put it on the train and advise you when it left. It will be sent Goods Rail Co., risk. Enclose receipt. EH.
