BENTLEY GUARANTEE - WEIGHTS.

The average weight of the first 15 production Bentley 3½ litre chassis is 2515 lbs. (22 cwt. 1 qr. 23 lbs). This weight includes everything, viz:- instruments, tools and spares, one spare wheel and tyre, battery, petrol, water and oil.

As regards body weight, in Cl1/C22.6.33. it was stated that it was proposed to limit the weight of the coachwork to 8¾ cwt. (This is the weight of the heaviest experimental Bentley body).

From the above, therefore, we get a maximum car weight, complete and ready for the road, of 30 cwt. 3 qrs. 23 lbs.

The 8¾ cwt. coachwork allowance includes all lamps and accessories, i.e. everything supplied by the coachbuilders.
