Honeyman - Retail orders} Bs{A J. Barnes - Assistant Manager}2/KW5.3.37. ----------- Improved Type Lucas Headlamps. I am instructed by Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} to ascertain when the improved type Lucas headlamps were received at W. for the purpose of test. I am requested to find out what steps were taken in regard to the testing, because so far we appear to have received no reports. In your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst.7/APIO.12.36 you stated that Messrs Lucas were modifying the design, and at that date you were expecting an early visit from their representative to enable you to finally approve the technical details of the design. Subsequent to this there appears to be no information regarding the testing, and this presumably is the information Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} is requiring. In a further memo ROY{Sir Henry Royce}7/MG18.12.36. it was stated that the production of these lamps is proceeding slowly, and that a period of 4-5 months might elapse before you were in a position to obtain bulk supplies. Will you kindly let us know what is the present position in regard to standardising this lamp, and when you expect supplies will be available. Bs.{A J. Barnes - Assistant Manager} | ||
