Messrs. Ferodo Ltd.,
Chapel-en-le-Frith.

For the attention of Mr. Longley.

Dear Sirs,

Re Phantom III Clutches.

We thank you for your letter ref. JNL/KM. and agree that the ideal would be to mould all the holes, but until this plate is nearer being standardised we also agree that it would not be wise to make further dies, and in any case relative bursting speeds could be obtained with drilled holes.

We do feel that a more perfect finish on the outer diameter would help matters. We are also wondering whether your experiments may lead to an improved material strength.

We will be pleased to send you a plate we hope, early next week, we regret that at the moment we are rather short of these plates as they are only made experimentally.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
