ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED, NIGHTINGALE ROAD, DERBY. TELEGRAMS: "ROYCAR," DERBY. TELEPHONES: 476 (FOUR LINES). Re Steering Wobbles. Mr. Jones' Car No. 1185. x417 Na.{Mr Nadin} WOR{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}9/T19913. Sept. 19th. 1913. We have not this car in our possession, consequently cannot alter it; but I have written Mr. Cowen asking him to get hold of this car, or any other cars that have bad steering wobbles. However, there is a car now in our Repair Dept., chassis No. 1645, and the owner says that the steering wobbles on this car have existed ever since he bought the car, and would like them curing. I would suggest that Mr. Day consults or instructs Mr. Haldenby to immediately get that car, and see if Mr. Royce's proposals will definitely cure these wobbles. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Mr.Day. Na{Mr Nadin}/S13/LG19913. 19.9.13. Will you kindly see Mr.Haldenby with reference to the above. [Handwritten note] Na.{Mr Nadin} I saw Mr Haldenby but the car had been stripped before we could get there & the condition altered by an attempt to balance the wheels. I have asked him to take the car up & apply Mr Royces theories of the wobble & strip the axle assembly. Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/20/9/13 | ||
