ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENTS.

Some confusion, delay and trouble is experienced in providing the various new experimental cars with the respective instruments and bought out units. More often than not the car is held up because some of these are not available. The method of procedure at the moment, is in general, as follows.

Instructions from By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}, Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} are received by By/RD.

By/RD. instructs HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel}, supplying drawings, specifications and details generally.

HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WSC.{W. S. Cassel} issues the necessary requests for orders to the Order Office, who actually place the orders.

We check the instruments as received from the makers and allocate them to the respective cars.

This appears to be a good scheme on the face of it; however, much confusion has arisen due to the instruments not being available in time. When we are aware of this position in advance, we arrange for temporary instruments to be fitted.

We suggest that Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} take over the responsibility of obtaining the instruments and keeping in touch with the makers from the time of instruction from the D.O.

If there is any objection to this suggestion, we should like to discuss the matter with those concerned.
