PHANTOM - REVISED DRY LINER ALUMINIUM ENGINE.

X8770
X8050

We send you herewith print of LeC. 2421. shewing preliminary scheme for the above.

We should be glad if you could have cylinder block drawings made from this scheme so as to give us a helping hand with the design of this engine.

As a matter of fact most of the features of the cylinder blocks are shewn, but we wish to see the complete drawing to make sure that all the features embodied in connection with water cooling, etc. are satisfactory.

Further schemes will follow in due course giving the remainder of the information in connection with valve gear and head.

This drawing shews a 5 to 1 compression ratio for the cylinder head, but we propose to provide means for varying this from 4½ to 5 to 1 without interfering with the turbulence or without requiring a new pattern for the head, by scooping out the combustion space on the push rod side of the head.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
