It was still good, however, on the drive, but no better than when first geared. The worm wheel shows signs of wear and is slightly cross wound.

Mr. Bailey suggested that the chassis for the worm drive axle should also be pushed forward as rapidly as possible.

Mr. Johnson said "Yes."

Mr. Wormald informed the Committee that he was waiting instructions on this matter, although the drawings had been issued from the drawing office last week.

Mr. Nadin promised to look into the matter, and report at the next meeting.

102nd Meeting Re Worm Axle.

Mr. Wormald submitted a Hindley worm manufactured by Albro Clem Co. He pointed out that the cutting was extremely rough, and he did not think the gear looked at all promising.

The Committee inspected the worm, and after some discussion agreed that one set should be made ready for fitting to the worm axle on chassis 2004, but that no work should be done in the way of bedding the worm to the worm wheel.
