Dear Sirs, We are in receipt of your letter of the 11th inst. with further reference to the Patent AUTOVAC Apparatus returned a short time ago for test. As requested, we are arranging for this instrument to be returned to you as received. Reference to the enclosed blue print will, we think, make clear our explanation as to the cause of failure when the car to which this AUTOVAC was fitted was stationary. As previously mentioned, this was due entirely to slight wear on the Suction Valve face or valve seating, which would cause the valve lever to rise to a higher level in consequence, which in turn would result in the toggle lever descending lower before the Spring passed the dead centre; the Float would thus reach the bottom of the inner chamber before the Valves were operated. If we can furnish any further information in connection with the above we shall be pleased to hear from you again. Yours faithfully, THE AUTOVAC MFTG. CO. LTD. Encls:- B.P. | ||
