| RR 238 (300 Bks.) (SF 152. 6-11-18.) MP 197880 ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To E.F.C. Order No P.B. Late Customer's No. X July 26th 1922 It will be seen from these results that:- 1. The successful operation of this instrument depends on the ability, first to distinguish, and then correctly define, an indication due to a given gap. 2. The instrument is not decided in action; as it not only responds to the gap under test, but is affected, inductively, by the remaining five gaps. This is the fault of the Ignition Tester as far as spark gaps are concerned, where the results were obtained through the points being exposed, and by means of slow running. On the engine the points would of course be enclosed, but they would probably be further apart and not so likely to affect each other; in which case something more definite could be obtained. Signed Cont'd This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
