Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 2nd instant, reference as above, in regard to the Roller out of the Bentley Steering which has broken. This Roller was, as you are aware, special and, therefore, had to be made on its own quite apart from production Rollers. The Roller Races also were made at the same time and we are afraid that a very serious mistake was made in making not only the Races but the Roller in the same steel which, as you say, is high-chrome ball race steel. We are not stating the above as an excuse but just to inform you as to how it apparently happened, and we can only offer you our apologies for this very serious error which took place. We have, of course, put in hand replace Rollers and hope to despatch the shaft complete with the Roller very shortly. - 1 - | ||
