X6024 c. to Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/MS. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.7/KT. 3rd.November 1931. Gent Co. Ltd., Faraday Works, Leicester. Dear Sirs, Gent Electric Instrument Board Clock. We have received the sample clock from you made up into one of our existing clock cases. Upon examination however we find that there are no external means provided for the adjustment of the hands. When the clock is in position on the instrument board it will be a physical impossibility to adjust the hands by the small knurled wheel placed inside the case. You will therefore appreciate that we cannot agree to carry out chassis tests, which to us represent the car in a customers hands, until some means of external hand adjustment is provided. We await your further comments on this matter. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
