We want to change our minds about the type of new lining necessary for 3.B.IV's brakes. We asked Waller to have the brakes re-lined with standard MR, but now we want to fit BZ, and accordingly are sending out to you a set of foot brake shoes with the linings rivetted on. These should arrive very soon. The reason for this change is that recently we had trouble with a customer's brakes which were squeaking exceptionally badly. Making certain that the brakes were 100% did no good at all i.e., seeing that the linings were close on the shoes, and the tipping shoes correctly set, spring poundages right and bedding perfect) so we gave this man some BZ which he found very much better. It is a hard wearing and powerful lining. We would like your opinion about its squeaking characteristic when you have tried the car. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F.
