X4075 To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to CJ. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}4/M28.6.22. X.4075 - GOSHAWK RE WIRING We send you herewith N Sch.1305 shewing a junction box in the side channel for the wires to the steering column klaxon switch. This is to enable the steering column to be easily removed without unthreading several wires. In Fig.2 we shew the same box fixed to the dashboard on the engine side in this case to enable the valve cover and wiring tube to be readily removed without withdrawing the L.T. wire to the ballast resistance. We wish to make the following modifications to the wiring schemes F51384-5-6 and F51120. (a) Clips for conduit to side channel. - On N.Sch 1305 we shew a revised design in which the clips and cap are box section. We have treated the clip on the 3rd cross member similarly, as we found from experience on the 40/50 wiring that the ordinary type of clips would break. (b) Wire to Tail Lamp. We wish this to be enclosed in a piece of flexible tubing each end of which can be sweated to the standard Lucas fitting with slight modifications. (c) Front Lamps. - We do not propose to enclose these wires in flexible tubing as they are armoured by the wing-stay from damage by stones etc. and should be quite capable of withstanding the water. Referring to F51385 we wish to delete 2 of the 3 sheet brass clips holding the copper tube to the wing, as the screw heads on the wing surface would be objected to by the coachbuilders. Contd. | ||
