1166 GRY{Shadwell Grylls} To HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} [Routing list: HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, AD, DX are crossed out, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} remains] ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/MG22.5.37 D.W.S.JACKS ex MESSRS. DONALD SESSIONS Mr. Sessions confirms the fact that the offer they received from Messrs. S.Smith & Sons, Cricklewood to take over their business was of such a generous nature they felt they had no option but to accept it. Under the revised arrangements, briefly, the business will be conducted as under: (a) Mr. Sessions will be responsible for the Design, Material, and Sale of all Jacks handled by the Smith Group, i.e. both D.W.S and Jackal type. (b) In due course D.W.S.Jacks, both mechanical and hydraulic, will be manufactured in a new Works the Smith Group are erecting, adjacent to the A.T. oedometer Works at Cricklewood. Same will be under the control of Mr. Havilland, their Works Manager. Additional thereto a Service Station will be incorporated in such Works. (c) Until such Works is available, the mechanical Jacks will continue to be made by the Abingdon Ecco Company, Tyseley, the Hydraulic Jacks by R.T.Shelley, Birmingham. The Smith Group have not yet absorbed the Stevenson Jack, handled by the Jenks Group, Wolverhampton or the Millennium Jack, handled by Lake & Elliot, of Braintree.
