Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} R Bowering fil Re Phantom III Petrol Tank. We have been requested by Ws/Wld. to consider a modification to the vertical swaging in the petrol tank baffle plates represented by F.87847. It is suggested that these should die out before reaching the flange which it is desired should be made continuous. The proposal is that the ends of the swaging should be spear shaped and finished .10 from the flange. During our experiments we attempted to make the swaging in this manner but did not meet with success as the method used was rolling. We are in agreement with the suggestion and would prefer it to our design if it can be done. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
