SERIES "V".

This sheet defines "V" Series as it had been instructed up to 4.3.25, the date of CJ's memo CJ11/E.4.3.25. which specified that after that date no further modifications could be introduced unless Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}, Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} consider they are essential, when CJ's agreement can be applied for, but until this agreement is obtained, no modification must be introduced.

1. Engine of new type complete, fitted with oil relay ignition control.

2. Engine bearer arm made as single drop forging in Nickel Steel.

3. Single plate clutch with first engagement springs.

4. Fabric Coupling between engine and gear box.

5. New epicyclic starting gear unit to enable Fabric Coupling to be fitted.

6. Pedals to give increased stiffness and increased leverage.

7. Steering gear, type originally instructed is not satisfactory and will have to be modified; when satisfactory it will be introduced under CJ's scheme.

8. Throttle governor cam. present scheme not final. A new cam is being tried out.

9. Exhaust nozzle of new type.

10. New type outlet for "cut-out" recently instructed.

11. Alteration to position of oil filler cap on axle from "near" to "off" side to accomodate the new "cut out" outlet.
