(2) Finally, we think that your modifications indicated on the little blue print you sent us should make the lever amply strong enough, and if anything rather too much so. We accordingly send you N. scheme 1248 shewing the lever designed as we think it might be but we shall leave it in your hands to use whichever is most convenient. We may say that we find on comparing the specimen of F50862 with the cross steering lever shewn on N. sch. 999 that the stress in the former is 40% higher than that in the latter. Therefore to meet Mr.Royce's requirements for 50%, a still further increase seems to be required as shewn on N. scheme 1248. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
