FRAME & FITTINGS. REAR BRAKE EQUALISING MECHANISM (HAND) TO L.O.F. G.53730. REAR BRAKE EQUALISING MECHANISM (FOOT) TO L.O.F. G.53709. REAR BRAKE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT TO L.O.F. 4.53429. FRONT BRAKE EQUALISING MECHANISM TO L.O.F. F.53462.-

These equalising shafts and their bearings do not show any serious wear to have taken place. The equalising mechanism has functioned O.K.

SIDE STEERING TUBE TO L.O.F. F.56003. CROSS STEERING TUBE TO L.O.F. G.53601.-

The loading of these tubes has remained consistent. The lubrication of the ball ends has been ample and remains O.K.

BOSCH WINDSCREEN WIPER.-

The Bosch windscreen wiper failed during the test, due to the pin locating the wiper to the shaft having become loose and fallen out. This was replaced. The windscreen wiper has operated satisfactorily after this attention.

CASTLE SPOT LIGHT. CHROMIUM PLATED BUTLER CENTRE LAMP OPERATED BY COURT TWO WAY SWITCH ON FOOTBOARDS.-

The lamp is very satisfactory for an alternative to the dimming arrangement. The Court two-way switch connections have given trouble, the design of the coupling plugs being too weak and with the constant vibration have worked loose, with the result that the head lamps have failed. This has happened repeatedly after attention had been given to the plugs.

BODYWORK GENERALLY.- The bodywork gradually developed rattles from the windows, side doors, and movement of scuttle. When driving in a storm, water is beaten through the front windscreen considerably. The sliding window at driver's side has rattled considerably. The rubber between the dash and the scuttle had deteriorated and no cushioning effect was taking place at this joint. We have since packed out the rubber with washers with considerable improvement in lessening the movement of the scuttle. The asbestos lagging under the rear foot boards has fallen away.
