All reference to the scum formed, due to the electrolytic action of water, in a carburetter casing is given in the last paragraph of our note H15/B191218., and is given below:- " The scum itself was found to contain Sodium and Silicon, and it is probable that sodium silicate was used during manufacture and this may have accentuated the trouble".
