Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
D E R B Y.

Dear Clarke,

I have a small personal favour to ask of you, and while I know I am asking you to transgress the rules of your establishment I am sure you will do what you can to help me.

A friend of mine, Sir Gilbert Garnsey, has just bought a new 20 horse Rolls Landaulette Car from Windovers, and he is anxious to have his Chauffeur put through your instructional course as quickly as possible.

We gather, however, from Windovers that it is impossible to do this at once, and that the earliest date at which he can be taken into the Works would be about the 19th. I wonder if you could do anything, as if I could get him taken in at the beginning of next week I shall be very much obliged to you.

Yours sincerely,
Charles McNeil
