CONFIDENTIAL. 1022 To. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/RG.{Mr Rowledge} Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/RG.{Mr Rowledge}6/GAB.21.12.43. Silver Ripple. Re. your note Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/h.21.12.43. I am attaching a copy of the letter I have sent to Dr. Kelly of Pressed Steel Co.Ltd., which is self explanatory for their own construction. I am still awaiting their reply. If you also require a P.S.C. estimate on the Park Ward construction as we know it, failing complete detail drawings, rough estimating sketches shewing overall sizes and sections must be prepared. These sketches must be complete and cover every piece, otherwise P.S.C. will claim extra tool costs for every additional part or modification. Two men fully conversant with this procedure (which unfortunately they are not) could complete these sketches in approximately a week. For our own embryo staff I should estimate at least ten days. If their war commitments will permit, P.S.C. could submit a fairly positive estimate within a further week to ten days. In view of my letter to Dr. Kelly, is it still your wish that I make a provisional visit before our sketches are ready? or, assuming P.S.C. send a favourably reply to my letter, will you let that arrangement stand, and if considered politically advisable, persevere with the Park Ward construction and get a further estimate.
