Dear Mr.Robotham,

Many thanks for your letter of the 22nd instant. I think we have now got over the trouble.

What we did was to remove that portion of the thread in the sparking plug holes which is not covered by the plug and to round off the sharp corners where these holes join the cylinder head and we are now getting no more "pinking" than one would expect with pool petrol.
