Cured by cleaning and rebedding front brake liners & correcting external adjustment as necessary. In one case (last quarter) we also had finally to change the liners, viz. on chassis B.85.EJ after a mileage of only 136 Kms. 7. Brakes binding. March Quarter C.C. 2 C.P. --- Previous Quarter C.C. 2 C.P. I Six months. ----- 5 ----- B.59.DK - 10,440 Kms. Dismantled rear brakes, freed all pins &c. made act shafts free in bushes Found to be seized owing to water & mud having penetrated into the brake mechanism. B.85.EJ - 3,336 Kms. Dismantled o/s rear brake mechanism and freed the shoes. Mostly due to lack of lubrication to the brake actuating shafts. Please refer to remarks of last quarter. The rear brakes need some form of water and mud excluder. We have come across a number of cases where there has been a considerable amount of mud in the brake mechanism; | ||
