X. 3513 FC AUG 20 Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}16/NJ19.8.21. RECEIVED X.3513 - Sample Bakelite Insulations for experimental purposes. Upon receipt of yours EFC1/T21.6.21, we (on 24/6/21) issued an order (No.5469) to RR.of A.Inc. for the samples called for. We are now in receipt of a letter from RR.of A.Inc. dated 29th ult. stating they have communicated with the Continental Fibre Co., Newark, Delaware, and said firm have forwarded to them item (1) in both black and natural colour, and item (3) in natural colour. With reference to item (2), the Continental Fibre Co. state that this grade "A" stock was made with an asbestos paper base and they have recently discontinued the manufacture of this grade of insulating material, as they found the mechanical properties were such that the material could not be used for general insulating purposes.
