Two pieces of paxolin each 1/16" x 6" x 6" are now available for use in experimental electrical units, as substitutes for the present insulating materials.

This is in a paper base only, no other being obtainable in England. Some small rods of the American material made with Japanese bond and canvas cap, however, be used for bushes etc. when they will compare with the paxolin. These are also in the Expl. Dept.

As only 1/16" sheets have been received, it will be necess-ary to use two thicknesses for parts 1/8" thick.

The suggestions are set out in detail in Mr. Olley's note Qy6/G24.3.21.

Some pieces of sheet bakelite with paper and canvas bases have now been received from America for the above substitutions, viz:-

Two pieces each of
Bakelite dilecto (natural) 6" x 6" x 1/16".
" " (black) 6" x 6" x 1/16"
Continental bakelite 6" x 6" x 1/8".

Two small pieces of 3 mm. (nearly 1/8") sheet bakelite, apparently with paper base, and a short rod of
Contd.
