RE: H.T. IGNITION CABLE.

Mr.Britland of the British Insulated Cable Co. visited our Works this afternoon and had a discussion with us regarding faulty ignition cable.

He reported that our tests on cable samples received from our Stores and the Depots shewed that all our stock consisted of the wrong type cable which they admitted having delivered to us excusing themselves by saying that in supplying this wrong cable they thought they were supplying a cable better than the one we standardised.

All our stock at Derby, Cricklewood, and Kingsbury should therefore be returned to them immediately and we should be glad if Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} will arrange for this to be done.

They have promised to send us 1000 yards of the correct cable in a week's time followed by larger quantities later, and they have also installed similar test apparatus to our own which will enable them to carry out the tests we have specified.

With the test and inspection procedure now in operation at the Works it should be impossible for faulty H.T. cable to appear on Production chassis in future.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst.
