| X4075 Extracts from EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/LG25.4.22. RE GOSHAWK II. X.4378 - BATTERY BOX HANGAR BRACKETS. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} complains these have failed on 5-Gos.II and R has sent through instructions to alter same. X.4075. HEAD LAMP WIRING. X.4090. One of these failed on 5-Gos.II and a possible alteration is required to prevent similar occurrence on future cars. We have also experienced trouble with the head lamps moving. Some settlement is also required as to the best method of fixing the wire to the side lamps attached to the wings. Some better protection for the wire is required or armoured wire should be used. X.4354. IGNITION - AUTOMATIC RANGE OF ADVANCE. The actual standard for this requires settling. We understand from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that R.{Sir Henry Royce} is quite satisfied with the action of 4-Goshawk II. 5/6/7-Goshawk II have been made the same and we have received no complaints in this respect. X.4357. HIGH TENSION ROTOR. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} reports this has failed on 5-Gos.II. A stronger type is in hand. Is it considered that this is satisfactory ? X.4079. COILS. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} reported that the one on 4-Gos.II failed when driving to Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence. We have not as yet received the faulty coil for investigation. X.4414. BATTERIES. Some definite standard of battery is required. 4/5 Gos.II cars have C.A.V.Willard batteries. 6-Goshawk II has the Exide battery and 7-Goshawk II has the P & R Battery fitted. | ||
