QUARTERLY COMPLAINTS. Quarter Ending 30.9.29.
40/50 HP. PHANTOM.

Nature of Complaint. | No. of Cars. | Last Qtr's. Total. | Remarks.
---------------------|--------------|-------------------|---------
Brakes Squeaking. | W. 13. | 25. | A new lining named "Ferobestos" has been standardised, and although it is not so liable to squeak as Ferodo and other fabrics, it is not a definite cure in all cases. Not recommended for pre front wheel brake cars. It is thought that Owners and Chauffeurs might be advised to occasionally put a few drops of paraffin on to their brake drums. Further experiments with Nitralloy insert to the brake drums are being tried. See also Depot Sheet No. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} 119.

Boiling Complaints. | W. 16. | 10. | A new type radiator matrix with increased water space is now fitted. Depots have received instructions how to deal with this. Further experimental work is being carried out in connection with this complaint. We are recommending Sodium Phosphate Tabloids being supplied, one to be put into the radiator every time fresh water is put in, or one every three months if the water is not changed.

Coupling Fabric | W. 2. | 18. | Works Repair Dept. do not receive a serious number of complaints. N. should be able to inform us why there are so many complaints at their Depot, and what is the cause of the complaint, and some general idea of the mileage the car has run when the complaint has been made.
