DYNAMO OUTPUT AND LUCAS DYNAMO. X.6100. References E1/N11.2.31 and Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}3/W12.2.31. We agree that we should obtain one of the simpler Lucas machines for analysis and are arranging the matter with Roy{Sir Henry Royce}, as suggested. We agree generally with E's various points and will do all we can to reach the point at which 60 watt lamps can be standardised both for the 20/25 and P.2. chassis. With regard to E's statement that "even with automatic control it will still be found necessary for the ideal characteristic performance curve plotted on a speed base to maintain a level output at all times", we have only at any time considered the drooping output speed characteristic an advantage in the absence of any form of control, hand or automatic. In advocating semi-automatic means (two rate charge scheme) and purely automatic means, we have nowhere advocated that the output characteristic should not keep up with speed, if possible. EFC. | ||
