Sft.{Mr Swift} c. to Mr. Scott. X 3/17 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}15/KW.9.3.34. Fitting of D.W.S. Jacks to 20/25 HP. With reference to the above. The front Jacks should be fitted to the axle so that the operating arm is on the O/S. The raising of the car is then effected by rotating the Jack Handle clockwise. Supplied with every front Jack are two taper pads. These are for the purpose of counteracting the axle lean, and so enabling the Jacks to be lowered squarely on to the ground and not at the angle at which the axle is set. It will be noticed that the Jack operating arm on the 20/25 chassis is on the opposite side to that of the Phantom II. Actually, the P.II Jack was specially made for us, because we found that if the operating arm was fitted on the O/S, the handle could not be used correctly, due to the fact that it fouled the steering arm. With regard to the rear Jacks, these are marked O/S. and N/S. by the D.W.S. Co. as on the P.II Jacks. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/J.Bowering. | ||
