1129 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}9/MH.{M. Huckerby} Messrs. Coventry Climax Engines Ltd., Friar's Road, Coventry. 2nd. September 1937. For the attention of Mr. Lee. Dear Sirs, You will no doubt, recall that some months ago we had a discussion on the O.H.T. type of engine which we have been developing in single cylinder form. We have now reached a stage when we are considering making a six in line main engine, and naturally various problems have now come up for consideration which it is not possible to investigate on a single cylinder; such as starting, idling, pick up, roughness etc. It occurred to us, therefore, that in view of your experience on these points, and our recent results on the single cylinder unit, another discussion on the matter would prove mutually beneficial, and we should be very glad if you could suggest a date when we could come and see you. Mr. Robotham, head of the department, has expressed his desire to accompany me, and as he will be away on holiday until the 27th. September, we should be glad if a date subsequent to this could be fixed. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
