RE. FUMES IN BODIES - MR.CLAREMONT'S CAR 21-TW.
------------------------------------------

Further to our EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/H6.4.21, and EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}35/F23.3.21, we have now received a further report from our Inspector visiting Mr. Claremont, which confirms that the improvement reported in our memo. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/H.6.4.21, after fitting of the pipe supplied by the Experimental Dept., is maintained.

Our Inspector has unfortunately not been able to see Mr. Claremont, but the driver reports that Mr.Claremont is now quite satisfied.

In view of this, we certainly consider that some definite action should now be taken for such fittings to be standardised, and a design got out and instructed which will enable us to deal similarly with several other complaints, and at the same time to fix this on cars as soon as ever possible, so as to avoid these complaints.

We take it we shall be in order in charging the cost of fitting this pipe on Mr. Claremont's car to R.D.D.

Meantime, will Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} please supply us with a few further similar pipes in order that we can deal [XXXX] with the serious complaints.

EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}
