-5- Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/ML.3.4.41. 26. MYTH. (Cont'd) Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} emphasised that what he did want instructing on the Myth was the new cylinder head with the exhaust and inlet on the same side. This would be detailed for the 10 h.p. car. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. will see that he gets the exhaust and induction system from Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} We have satisfied HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} with regard to production costs on the Myth engine, a conference having been held and each point being settled on its merits. 27. GEARBOX SPECIFICATION - SENIOR RANGE. This has now been issued to HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} and the only things sacrificed since by utilising the pieces part machined before the war, are strengthened second speed dogs and intermediate first speed D.P's. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} was asked to go over the specification and say whether he thought it could be improved in any way with the parts available. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} will make sure that HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} understands to what specification the boxes must be produced. The front springs have been tested for rate. They are O.K. 28. BRAKE DRUMS - SENIOR RANGE. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/WHR.{Mr Wheeler} has given EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/JD.{J. Draper - Frames} the information he has on the subject and a scheme is only awaiting the completion of the Myth. The first light alloy drum is now finished and being machined at Smedley's and looks promising. The second is being put in hand forthwith. Unless any fault is found on the first drum we should go ahead getting a complete set into a car as soon as possible. 29. ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} has issued a report on this. - Continued - | ||
