BENTLEY CONN. ROD BEARINGS AND MAIN BEARINGS.

The bearings in the conn. rods and main journals quickly become loose in the housings if there is no nip in the first instance.

It has been the practice in the Expl.Dept. to give approx. .002" nip on the bearings in the housing. The Works do not do this. Will you therefore please instruct that all the bearings in future shall have a .002" nip to prevent them coming loose in the housing due to the hammering effect.
