BENTLEY AXLE CONTROLS.

Further to our report on Bentley front axle controls, included in the 17,000 miles Report Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/I/JAB.27.5.36, on D.56.HW. we forward herewith an extract from the repair lists at the Paris Depot.

Chassis Numbers.

B. 54. EF. 3.371 Kms. Re-adjusted the controls.
B.105. GW. 2.1290 Mls. Failure of oil supply. Fitted two new pins & four bushes.
B. 34. EF. Fitted new pins & bushes.
B. 42. GW. Tightened up the front axle controls.
B.130. EF. 8.570 Kms. Fitted 1 pin & 2 bushes to N.S. tightened up the O.S.
B.173. EJ. 492 Mls. Re-adjusted controls.
B.131. DK. 12.676 Kms. Adjusted the controls.
B. 1. CH. 43.941 Kms. Re-adjusted & changed 1 bush.
B. 28. DG. 20.641 Kms. Fitted new bushes & pins. Re-set controls
B. 66. EF. 15.600 Kms. Fitted 1 pin & 4 bushes.
B.137. EJ. 9.250 Kms. Fitted new bushes & pins to the axle control.
B. 63. GW. 9.175 Kms. Took out end play in pins & bushes.
B. 73. EJ. 9.907 Kms. Re-set controls.
B. 59. DK. 11.730 Kms. Fitted new bushes & pins.

The above repairs etc., cover a period of 9 months only, the total number of cars attended to being 18.

The above records further go to emphasise the seriousness of this trouble, and show that attention should be immediately given to the re-designing of this unit, and in order to satisfy the customer himself on this point, and to eliminate the costly expenses incurred in dealing with it.
