CONTINUATION 2.

of these lids to you and this is the first complaint you have made about them.

In our experience we have had no case of the thread stripping but we have had a few isolated cases of the wall of the tube cracking, (not in any of the lids that we have supplied to you) and to overcome this we have had to thicken the wall of the tube a little bit.

We should like you to return the battery to us so that we can look at it and fit new lids etc. for your customer.

With regard to the frequent necessity of topping up, by modifying the plates we have got this much better and the thinner separation which we are now fitting. which gives an increased volume of electrolyte, (the same as Exide) is of great assistance, and the battery on the writer's car which has these features seems to behave normally with regard to the amount of distilled water it requires, but if you do subsequently reduce your charging rate a bit and find some means of cutting it off when the battery is fully charged, this will do more than anything else to reduce the necessity of topping up in any make of battery.

Yours faithfully,
PETO & RADFORD.
