Dear Sirs,

Referring to your letter of the 11th.inst. addressed to our Cambridge works, we have looked care-fully into the cost of the special radiator thermometer as outlined in the last paragraph of this letter, and would say that as only one instrument would be required the scale will have to be made by hand, and we estimate the cost of the thermometer with 6' capillary tubing and fitted with electric alarm attachment to be £3.15.0. less your usual discount of 15%, plus an extra cost of £2.15.0 nett for the special hand divided scale.

We presume that an accuracy of ±2° at any point will meet your requirements, but if specially desired we do not think that there will be any difficulty in giving you an accuracy of ±1°, and would add that we do not think this would involve any extra cost.

If, of course, you should require a number of thermometers of this type, then we could make up a new master dial for the new range, with the result that the
