to [redacted] from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} copy to [redacted] Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X7530- ORIGINAL Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RE PHANTOM INSTRUMENT BOARDS. X7530 We note that on F.77834, the Instrument Board Print for Chassis following those with FH. Nos., the new Controls for the Shutters are placed 4.000ins. from the centre of the car. Sales inform us that they do not like this position, and want the controls moved out to a position 6.250ins..from the centre of the car, so that they can introduce as an alternative to our present arrangement the grouped scheme shewn on N.Sch.2543. They would like the Instrument board print to shew both schemes. We would therefore be glad if Derby would arrange to move the controls out, and set out a drawing shewing both schemes on the following lines and submit it us. GROUPED SCHEME. This should be set out similar to N.Sch.2543. as far as the centre is concerned, but the K.S. Gauge should be left off until it is introduced as standard. The clock and speedometer should be moved in slightly to suit. The locker, switch and dimming switch should be shewn as on our standard print. ORDINARY SCHEME. This should be the same as F.77834. The temperature meter and oil gauge should move out with the controls and the ammeter, clock and speedometer should be suitably arranged in the remaining space. They will be spread slightly to the right. If Derby would kindly make this drawing we would arrange to get a Standardisation sheet signed using the instrument board of 16.EX. as a model. There is, of course, no test needed. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Drawing Office have this in hand. | ||
